Daniel Murtagh has been working as a portrait photographer since 1995. A graduate of Pratt Institute, he has been creating an extensive body of work deeply influenced by film and European painting, and by periods spent in New Mexico and San Francisco. Working in both black and white and color photography, his pictures evoke a time past and suspended, a world of sensuality and vivid presence, where the individual is sensed, as much as seen. His work has been published widely in Europe and exhibited at Denver's Month of Photography, where his is nudes were shown in an exhibition organized by SEITIES. He lives in New York City.
